Update: Over 1500 books were collected, plus additional donations from a local Half Price Books store. Parishioner Sharron Hilbrecht delivered our collection of books, plus 1500 she collected individually over Fall Break. Another parent and grandparent will make a later delivery so if you have more books, please drop them off by Oct. 31. Art supplies will continue to be collected by Emelia, KYA Governor candidate, until Dec. 1.
Our Y Club KYA delegation, along with our KYA Governor Candidate, are hosting our all-school October Service Project Drives this week. On your child's way into school, or during conferences, please consider supporting one or both of the KYA Collection Efforts to support our Kentucky neighbors. Bins are in the Gathering Space and outside the Library at the St. Matthew's Campus, along with a bin at the Clifton campus.
New and gently used books for Letcher County, KY Schools, which had all of their classroom and school library books ruined in the July floods this year. Books should be appropriate for preschool through high school. Picture books, chapter books, fiction, non-fiction, etc. are all welcome and appreciated as they're working to replace more than 25,000 books.
New art therapy program supplies for Home of the Innocents. Their list, including an Amazon wishlist, is available online and includes craft supplies, construction paper, markers, crayons, scrapbooks, scrapbook paper, acrylic and watercolor paints, plastic paint brushes, paint pallets, sketchbooks, canvases, etc. (This is an ongoing drive by 8th grade governor candidate, Emelia Huff, so donations can continue to be donated to her to deliver to Home of the Innocents after Oct. 13, if interested.)
