Adult Volunteers Needed - Friday, Sept. 30

Our 6th graders will participate in the Immigration Simulation with Catholic Charities on Friday, Sept. 30 during their religion/social studies block. We're in need of additional adult volunteers to ensure this opportunity can happen for our students.

Adults are needed to go through a quick orientation and training from 7:30 - 8 am that day in the Youth Center, then volunteer from 8 - 10:40 am and 11:40 am - 2:30 pm (1-hour break for students' lunch/recess).

If you or a grandparent, mentor, or family friend would be interested, we'd love to have your help! Even if you're only able to help for 1 class block or half the day, we'd love to get you involved.

Volunteers will serve in the roles of border crossing, camp registration, health center, nutrition center, school, jail, and UNHCR. Anyone who is bilingual or can even speak just a few words in another language is definitely appreciated for the border crossing and camp registration stations, though that is not required to be a volunteer for any position!

To get involved, please contact Mrs. Davenport. Please double-check your background check and safe environment training are up to date (done within the last 5 years) with Mrs. Herrington in the parish office, as well, to ensure you can volunteer with our students.
