1st Grade Classrooms Adopt Dairy Cows

Each first-grade homeroom has adopted a dairy cow this year! Their cows are from Glasgow, Kentucky. In their classes, they’re learning all about cows and how milk gets from the farm to the store to our homes.

Recently, they had an "udderly" amazing day thanks to Southland Dairy Farmers!
🐄 The farmers came to visit and brought Olivia, a dairy cow, for students to meet. The farmers also talked to students about dairy cows and the milking process, all while demonstrating the milking process. Southland, like many farmers now, uses machines to milk their cows. Students found out that Olivia who visited our campus only lives 10 minutes from the cows the students have adopted! While Southland was here, second and third-grade students also stopped by to see and visit the cow.
