The fifth grade class learned what philanthropy is as part of their BizTown curriculum. They then researched a non-profit or charity and created a project designed to persuade their teacher and classmates to donate money to that organization. Some students made infomercials or videos, others gave speeches or created Google Slide presentations. After the presentations, classes voted for their top choices in each color group and Mrs. Theiss made a donation in our fifth grade's honor to each one.
Thank you, 5th graders, for your great work and efforts to research other organizations that need our support and then sharing their mission with your peers. Thank you, Mrs. Theiss, for modeling by example for our students and donating to their chosen organizations in our community!
