This week, we received notification that many of our students who submitted their poetry work to Creative Communications' Poetic Power Poetry Contest (an optional assignment during distance learning) were selected to be published! From the announcement, "The fact that you have numerous students accepted makes a strong statement about your school. Less than 50% of the poems submitted are published. The list of your students that have been accepted to be published represents a lot of talent, hard work, and dedication from your teachers and students. In judging thousands of poems, our judges have found that the single most important factor in creating a quality poem is the quality of the instruction."
Congratulations to current 5th graders: Nicholas E., Chloe C., Trevor K., Emelia H., Taylor F., Logan G., Hampton S., Haley H., Milly G., Libby G., Molly M., Wyatt M., Gabby T., Reese T., Anna C., Hadley B., and Webb H., as well as current 7th grader, Abby G. Thank you to Mrs. Theiss for encouraging and supporting our students to compete in this national contest!
