Grade Overview

4th Grade

Your child’s fourth grade experience will center around developing a positive self-concept.  This is a year that builds responsibility and accountability in a nurturing environment.   We focus on our gifts as a community while celebrating each individual’s God-given talents.   Fourth grade is an exciting year filled with many programs and activities that help connect students to their faith and community.   Our students promote service through involvement with the Little Way Pregnancy Resource Center, a mission that reaches out to mothers and children in need.  One example of showing the importance of cultural diversity to our students  is through a unit on Christmas Around the World. In addition, the students participate in a program of study on Kentucky history.  We also celebrate Louisville’s rich traditions for the Kentucky Derby by an annual Pet-a-Sus Parade led by the fourth grade students.  The fourth grade environment provides many opportunities for personal, spiritual, social, and academic growth.
